Through the Cybersecurity Improvement Fund Netherlands (CIF-NL), managed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), more subsidy is now available for concrete cybersecurity improvement measures.

CIF-NL is aimed at organisations that play a role in vital or economically important sectors and want to reduce cyber risks in a practical and measurable way. The subsidy supports projects such as improving detection and response capabilities, strengthening network and system security, and implementing organisational security measures.

Key areas

The 2025 CIF-NL funding round focuses on two key areas:

1. Promoting crypto-agility
This includes developing innovative methods or techniques for managing and renewing cryptographic assets within an organisation, such as algorithms, keys, and certificates, with the goal of strengthening national cybersecurity.

2. Simplifying and making cybersecurity solutions more cost-efficient
This involves developing or improving methods and techniques - or scaling existing ones - to enable automated detection of cyber threats, software code verification, data and communications encryption, network and access security, and enhancing these capabilities through self-learning systems.

Innovative solutions

The primary goal of this funding round is to encourage Dutch companies to develop innovative solutions that can be offered as products or services, contributing to national cyber resilience across both government and business sectors.

The minimum subsidy amount per project is € 60.000 with a maximum of € 100.000, and projects can be submitted until February 10, 2026.
