CISO Community Nederland – Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct
Welcome to the CISO Community Nederland — a trusted, private network of CISOs and senior cybersecurity professionals in the Netherlands. This platform is dedicated to connecting leaders in security, sharing knowledge, and strengthening our collective cyber resilience in a rapidly digitizing world.
These guidelines are designed to foster a safe, constructive, and legally compliant environment. By participating, you agree to abide by these terms.
1. Our Purpose & Who This Community Is For
CISO Community Nederland is a curated, members-only platform for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and senior information security leaders in the Netherlands.
We exist to:
- Strengthen cybersecurity leadership at the executive level.
- Promote secure knowledge exchange and collaboration.
- Support our members in facing legal, technical, and organizational security challenges.
Membership is open to senior professionals with cybersecurity responsibilities in the Netherlands. Access to the platform may require verification of your role and is subject to approval.
2. Who Manages This Community
This community is operated by the CISO Community Nederland team. For inquiries or to report content that may violate our guidelines or the law, please contact us directly at: connect@cisocommunity.nl
Moderators are responsible for:
- Monitoring discussions and enforcing the guidelines.
- Taking action against harmful, unlawful, or inappropriate content.
- Responding to member reports and concerns confidentially and promptly.
We are compliant with applicable Dutch and European laws, including content moderation and transparency obligations under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and Dutch Criminal Code (Wetboek van Strafrecht).
3. What We Encourage
We promote a respectful, enriching, and professional environment. We welcome:
- Open, respectful dialogue between peers.
- Experience-based insights, frameworks, and lessons learned.
- Questions about legal and ethical security challenges.
- Board-level strategic discussion and policy evolution.
- Constructive debate that contributes to shared professional growth.

4. What We Don’t Allow
To ensure legal compliance and protect all members, we do not tolerate the following:
🔹 Harmful or illegal content:
- Incitement to hatred, violence, discrimination, or terrorism (Art. 137c-137e of the Dutch Penal Code)
- Harassment, defamation, stalking, or personal threats
- Dissemination of false or misleading information with serious consequences (DSA Article 16)
- Promotion or distribution of illegal software, malware, or exploits
- Encouragement of unlawful activity (e.g., data theft, unauthorized access)
🔹 Disruptive behaviour:
- Bullying, trolling, or intentionally derailing discussions
- Unsolicited commercial content or direct sales messaging (spam)
- Sharing of copyrighted or confidential materials without permission
- Posting personal or sensitive data (including from employers or clients)
🔹 Breaches of trust:
- Violations of confidentiality agreements or NDAs
- Republishing community content outside the platform without consent
- Misrepresentation of your identity, role, or affiliation
Note: Members are encouraged to flag any content that may be illegal or harmful via our reporting mechanism. Reports are reviewed swiftly and confidentially.
5. What Happens If Rules Are Broken
We reserve the right to take the following actions based on the severity of any violation:
- Immediate removal of content
- A formal warning to the member
- Temporary suspension from the platform
- Permanent removal from the community
- If necessary, notification to relevant authorities
Moderation decisions are made with fairness, discretion, and transparency. We keep records of moderation actions in accordance with DSA obligations and are prepared to cooperate with Dutch authorities upon lawful request.
Legal Notice
This platform is operated in accordance with:
- The Dutch Civil and Criminal Code
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- The Digital Services Act (DSA), specifically Articles 14–17 concerning content moderation and illegal content
We are committed to:

- Respect for freedom of expression within the law
